Choosing a training path is a matter of listing one's goals in life, of deciding how one wishes to live, What responsibilities, pressure & degree of self-direction & independence one has. Whether one choose to become a jewellery store- owner, artist jeweller, well-paid stone setter or sales manager, is just a matter of temperament. Some of the career option include:

A QUESTION OF GIVE & TAKE
Today,as commerce has assumed global proportions, it occupies a pivotal position in almost every nation's economic establishment.Buying & selling between countries is what we call international trade. It is characterised by the import and export of commodities a nd, more recently even service. International trade is known as the world trade or oregin trade. Earning revenue from export is the bastion of a nation's t rade & industry. Export management has transmuted from a simple marketing activity to become an integral part of trade & economic link ages between different countries.
To preserve even- handed in world trade practices, trading protocol in the international business community says that in order to export, a country must import substabtially. But more importantly, import is an overriding aspect as many countries that are deficient in certain commodities, rely heavily on imports to meet their domestic requirements. Global trade operates on the principle of comparative advantage. Which states that every nation should concentrate on those products that it can efficiently over-produce, & buy from other countries commodities that it cannot produce so efficiently. Stands to reason both roles are equally important. From the production angle, international trade permits countries to use their surplus resources to manufacture commodities that bring in foreign echange.
But, that's entirely from a manufacturing position. From the operational stand point, there are legal documentation work that need to be done if one has to import or export commodities. To successfully effect business transactions b eyond the boundary is challenging beyond measure - it's like walking a tightrope because it means selling to an international audience & working within bureaucratic precincts all the time. Even though international trade is carried out by private exporters & importers, it takes specialised agents of international trade to help manage all offical procedures associated with it.
So, if you want to study the Export-Import management, here's a summary review of what it entails. As Export-Import trade falls uner the diktat of government policies, care has to be taken to avoid transgression of inter- continental trading laws. This means ensuring the highest degree of precison in documentation & administration procedures. Export-Import organsation is knowledge management for overseas trade. "In this business, what not to do is most important. That's why qualified managers are required in the industry"
Export-Import managers are custodians of international trade information. A course in Export-Import management familiarises a person with the main aspects of international business such as international marketing, International banking, Forex (Foreign exchange) management, EXIM policies, export commerce, export finance, export procedures, shipping documentation, marine & cargo insurance , to name a few themes. An international business manager deals with the professional handling of international trade- from negotiating trade agreements to accelerating the pace of transactions. Export-Import management is a magnified version of domestic marketing & finance. It knows no bound & has worldwide scope. India has a impressive catalogue of exports: Spices, garments, gems & jewellery, handicrafts, medical & chemical goods, & engineering goods mainly. India also export services like software solutions & other professional vocations. Vinay Pandey. (Course co-ordinator, Export Trade and Training institute) explains, "There are approximately 5,000 export companies in Mumbai itself. Export -Import managers are needed by them. Their services are also hired by shipping companies & clearing & forwarding agents." They also work with multi-national & national export houses, & trading houses.
Learning about trading policies & how they influenced world-wide business, is important for a global insight into international commerce. For example, countries are classified into: the non-communist industrialised nations, developing nations, & communist countries. Each group follows a distinctive trading pattern (Practice), which an export manager will have to abide by Foreign exchange (FOREX) management & conversion rates of foreign currency, is another branch of EXIM management. Here, you will learn about the foreign exchange market, international laws, governing trade, & balance of payments in international banking patois. Gaining specific cultural perspectives about the buying habits, marketing & advertising practice & promotional avenues, that your target respond tois a derivative of international trade. Observing patterns & playing a vital role in the international consumer market, can be a very satisfying occupation.
